WHO WE ARE
Tutor Partnerships is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that helps school districts set up and manage their own tutor partnerships chapter. Using a set of resources and forms, each chapter matches high school student tutors to middle school and elementary school students in the same school district.
We noticed that in volunteer tutoring, parents and tutees often lack trust for their tutors. To foster trust and a sense of community in tutoring, we adopted a local “within a school district” approach. This approach gives tutors a valuable opportunity to serve the community they live in and provides tutees a reliable tutor from their own school district, making them feel comfortable, safe, and enthusiastic about learning.
We are proud to be a National Partnerships for Student Success (NPSS) partner, find us at the Student Support Accelerator Database (studentsupportaccelerator.com/organizations/tutor-partnerships-incorporated).
In addition, we offer a tutor babysitting program for families that are struggling to take care of children in the summer. This service is especially designed for parents who must leave home for work or other reasons but can’t afford to send his or her kids to day-care centers in the summer.
OUR IMPACT AND REACH:
So far, we have had participants from three continents and multiple states in America, including from Nigeria, Hong Kong, China, Canada, Hawaii, and more. Whether they started their own tutoring program or simply engaged in virtual tutoring as a tutor or tutee, we are excited that our program has had such a global impact!
